OUR STORY

Born from a passion and mutual love of wine, the doors of La Cave de Bruno, your local independent wine shop in East Dulwich, flung open at the beginning of 2014.

It all started when Lou and Bruno hit the French countryside roads to celebrate Lou's 40th. One rainy day, they stopped at a small local vineyard, Domaine Dionysos, in the Rhône Valley, where they met the very talented winemaker Benjamin. Having tasted his exceptional French wines, they knew immediately they had to bring them back to the UK to share with friends and family. After a few wines and a moment of madness, the decision was made, and so it all began!

While Bruno eagerly researched and spoke with hundreds of independent French winemakers, building up their initial range, Lou started a steep learning curve: importing wines directly to the UK, sourcing premises in East Dulwich, and tackling landlords, taxes, and builders.

The result is a friendly, neighbourhood wine merchant, selling wines imported directly from small vineyards in France. Lou and Bruno continue sourcing new references while proudly maintaining strong relationships with their existing and trusted winemakers. The imported range also includes Champagne, a wide selection of Crémants, Eau-de-Vie, Armagnac, Cognac, and Calvados, available in-store or via nationwide UK wine delivery.

You can enjoy wines by the glass on the outdoor terrace or at one of the inside tables, it's a lovely place to sit and soak up the atmosphere of your own little corner of France.

"By importing directly from small and individual winemakers, straight to our front door in East Dulwich, we can give our customers the chance to experience wines that are not widely available anywhere else in the UK.”

"We are fully committed to sourcing the best value wines we can and wouldn't dream of selling anything we don't drink and enjoy ourselves!"
